Welcome!
The jurisdiction of the Korean Consulate General in Los Angeles encompasses Southern California, Arizona, Nevada, and New Mexico.
In the early 21st century, our jurisdiction was the epicenter for Korea’s independence movement, led by the great patriot Ahn Chang-ho. Now, it serves as the gateway for linking Korea and the United States of America through vibrant personal and trade exchange.
Since the late 1970s, the number of Korean immigrants to our jurisdiction has grown exponentially. The Korean-American community here is the most active and numerous of all the Korean diaspora in the world. They are, indeed, the most exemplary Korean community in the United States, which is particularly noteworthy in light of having to overcome the hardships of the LA Civil Unrest of 1992. This exceptionalism could be credited to the spirit of engagement and perseverance inherent in Korean people.
The Consulate encourages the Korean-American community to continue on its glorious path, preserving its pride and identity while working with other communities to create a better society.
The door of the Consulate is always open to everyone. We will pay attention to your precious suggestions and comments; and we will do our best to enhance the rights and interests of the Korean-American community.
Thank you!
